Building a great trip and saving money where you can help the rest of the trip and make things more comfortable.
Flight Deal Finders
- Theflightdeal.com – For daily postings of flight deals from major U.S airports.
- Secretflying.com – Daily postings for deals that include flights from international locations.
- momondo.com – Website and App is what I use to crosscheck with flight deals posted on websites.
My trips are not based on where I want to go next, it’s what’s on sale dictates where I’m going. Since my base is out of the Dallas Fort Worth metro, I am fortunate to have a large airport nearby. I still shop for deals on flight deal websites and DFW is usually has a deal somewhere.
Most travel deals post around 6-8 weeks prior to departure dates and deals last only a few days if that. The unknown where your next deal will take you too like spinning the prize wheel at the carnival.

Packing List
- Travelling by backpack is the easiest way to bring your supplies with you. I use a Osprey Farpoint 60L back for most of my travels. This comes with a zip on/off day pack included. The bag is big enough to pack what I need with room for any gifts I buy. I have no problems in the past getting onboard an international flight with it as a carry on.
- Electricity
- Two power banks with one being solar rechargeable.
- A plug adapter as well for coffee shops or lodging.
- Hydration
- Reusable water bottle
- Sawyer water filter if hiking
- Laundry
- Services are basically in every town.
- I only pack for about 6 days of clothes.
- Packing Cubes for compressing your clothes and travel towel.
- Phone holder for airplane seats.
